Digital Media and Learning Competition - Innovation in Participatory Learning
Join us as we grow a grant application here!
Abstract:
An online interactive university will be created with a range of technologies and real life applications. Participants will take part in a video game narrative that will unfold in stages as they reach new levels of understanding through perennial philosophy and metaphysical theory. The university structure will assist participants with some instructional applications and activities, but will also rely on participants to interact with each other and their environments.
Participants will interact with others in a digital environment powered by a public wiki and chat application. Non-profit organizations, universities, spiritual and religious groups and independent researchers will be encouraged to take part outside of the digital realm to engage participants in discussion, activities, education, and research. Most importantly, participants will be the creators of their own experience as it relates to their personal discovery and understanding of humanity.
This project will stand as a tool for participants to interact worldwide towards a common goal of education, development, and evolution of consciousness. Each individual participant decides the level of their involvement and is responsible for their own development.
Project Proposal
The Video Game
A video game will be developed for PC and console systems that will incorporate the use of brain controller technology to further study and evolve human consciousness. Users will have the option of using both hand controls and a brain controller simultaneously depending on their level of comfort and ability.
The design structure will use the Kabbalic sephirot to move from one stage of the game to the next with the influence of many religions and an understanding of perennial philosophy. The game narrative leads the player through the life of a character tasked to raise the consciousness of the world in a present environment of war, insecurity, and fear based politics. Time is inevitably moving towards the epic end of the world battle between good and evil which is nearing the end of it's cycle through consciousness. The player will have the option to choose which path the main character takes through present and past life timelines in his quest to reunite the pieces of the black obsidian crystal that will unlock the Ark of the Covenant. The player will have the choice on which side he chooses in battle resolving in three possible endings.
The video game leveling will be dependent on the participants' ability to solve complex puzzles based on the eso and exo-teric nature of the video game themes. Players will utilize the university structure to gain knowledge that will assist in progressing through the game stages. Through the use of external applications participants will be made aware of their own abilities and work towards understanding, controlling and refining them. Each stage of the game will incorporate a battle scene for participants to train and hone their skills with each other.
The game design will consist of the game narrative and leveling structure and an open world environment for players to create variations in battle scene design that can be shared amongst the community. Downloadable content will be provided which will be dependent on the community's progress, encouraging players to communicate and help one another through gameplay and outside to other parts of the digital, corporeal, and visceral realms.
The Digital Realm
Other technologies and applications can stem from the open structure of the online university becoming a co-creative environment. The digital realm will also act as a staging area of organization and sharing of the corporeal experience.
- Energy Sharing and Distance Healing chat application - This application will be designed to assist participants in sharing with others using brain wave controller technology.
- Public Wiki - A public wiki will be implemented to offer resources for the participants to learn and share. Participants will be encouraged to create their own personal wiki page to share their individual development as well as create pages to share topic specific information and knowledge.
- Email Server and User Page - An account will be created on a server for each registered participant. This will offer a space for participants to track their own growth and view the stats of others in the community. Wiki page notifications will default to this user email server.

The Corporeal Realm
Non-profit organizations, religious and spiritual groups, and universities will be encouraged to contribute to the project through development of activities, gatherings and classes.
The Visceral Realm
Participants will work through both digital and corporeal realms to better understand themselves and other participants. This aspect of the project is entirely dependent on the individual and their involvement in the projects as well as their personal development. The other tools available through this project will assist the participants in their development in this realm. Further development in technologies will emerge from individual growth in this area.
